Windows

As a Linux and Mac user, watching Vista enter the world and develop into an operating system that people use has been a beautiful thing.

These same windows users that have bad things to say about Linux for this, that or the other. Are now finding "this, that, and the other" to be wrong with Vista, only now, it's an excuse. Vista is too new, no operating system is truly perfect, and a heap more whining that you can find on the various news sites.

Vista is too new.
Apparently, if you are an operating system isn't considered profitable by device manufactures, your lack of drivers is an extreme negative, and enough to warrant not using the OS.
Now if you are a major operating system, with mierda loads of market share, and users out the asno, not having driver's for your operating system that has been out long enough for manufacturers to take notice is excused because, hey! Vista is new, we can't possibly expect device manufacturers to pop out drivers for required equipment as fast as Linux Hackers pop out Linux installers for devices never meant to run linux (a week before the device even ships)

No OS is truly perfect.
So they found a major flaw in Vista (as well as most other versions of windows), something about animated cursers, bad websites, and attackers...who knows, sounds like a normal windows issue. So now the big excuse is "No OS is perfect, they all will have issues." Windows users also say You mean linux has a flaws!? But I thought it was perfect!! after the news sites finally find a flaw decent enough to write an article about.

On top of all that, I was promised a whole lot of features that I had been waiting for in windows to be in Vista. Stuff like true multi-user environments. Turns out that was all lies, all of it. "accept or deny"? please! Internet Explorer 7.0 still crashes Explorer...and yet they told me it would be separate from the OS...hmm

In other news, I just installed Ubuntu Feisty Fawn BETA on my dad's "new" computer, an old 1.6Ghz Pentium 4 with 512mb of ram...it's only saving grace is the 5200 Ultra 128mb card that it has. With all of the cool and amazing GUI enhancements that makes Vista look like a child's toy, the system still cruises along and runs 3D apps without an issue. Oh yeah, it also ran a windows app better then windows runs it...go figure.

So maybe I'm missing something, maybe deep down inside, Vista isn't the ugly, obnoxious piece of junk that's just waiting to be thrown on top of the pile with the other windows os'. I guess we will have to wait for SP1, SP2 and SP4 Rollup to find out for sure if the heart of a swan beats inside this Dodo.
